Ep 65bee: Best Bee Weekend Ever.

This bonus episode is all about bees.  Our regular knitting, spinning, and fiber adventures episode will be published in Episode 66 on the weekend of May 12/13.
Kelly picked up two packages of treatment free bees to add to her apiary.  They rode home in the car and were successfully installed the same day.  She is so happy with the improvement of her beekeeping skills since 2015.

The next day the existing hive that had been cut out of a drain pipe and had been progressing well swarmed.  She saw the swarm from start to finish and describes the incredible experience.

These are my first attempts to create YouTube videos.  We won't be changing the podcast to video, but it was fun to document the experience for a YouTube supplement.

    1. I agree! I think it was one of the most amazing things I've seen. These bees never fail to fascinate me.

  2. Thanks so much for the special podcast. We don't do bees but garden with the survival of the fittest and no "cides" of any sort. Not the most common way in our development in suburban Philadelphia-my guesstimate is about 25% if the folks around us. Also like listening to others on the same band wagon.

    1. Hi Randi, sorry for such a late reply. For some (my user error?) reason your comments got stuck in moderation section and never published. I just saw it today. I'm so glad you enjoyed the show. I have another exciting bee report for the next episode!
